Profound vs Peec AI
One axis separates them. Profound is an enterprise platform — broad coverage across surfaces, regions and languages, quoted per contract. Peec AI is a self-serve tracker, reportedly from around $95 a month, bought with a card.
What this page is, and is not. We have not run either product. We track both as competitors and read what the engines say about them, so this is a guide to the decision and to what you should verify — not a hands-on review. Every specific below is labelled with where it came from and when. If you want a page written by someone who has used both, this is not it, and you should go and find one.

Sources for this table: positioning as each company describes itself and as Perplexity summarised them on 19 September 2026; the Peec AI price is the figure Perplexity reported on that date, not one we have verified. Prices in this category move quickly — check the vendor’s own pricing page before you rely on it.
What an engine said when asked to choose
On 19 September 2026 we put “Best AEO tools for tracking brand visibility in ChatGPT and Perplexity” to Perplexity through its API, as one of the eight questions in our published audit. It answered with a comparison table and cited twenty sources — the most of any of our eight questions.
- It listed Peec AI first, describing it as dedicated AI visibility tracking, useful for daily monitoring and agency reporting.
- It listed Profound third, calling it a strong choice for large-scale monitoring across many AI surfaces, regions and languages, with citation analysis and competitive intelligence — and adding that it is “generally more enterprise-oriented and expensive”.
- It also named Ahrefs Brand Radar and the free HubSpot AEO Grader in the same answer.
Two caveats, because this is exactly the kind of evidence that gets over-read. It is one answer from one engine on one date, and answers are non-deterministic — we ran our audit twice about a minute apart and the citation counts moved. And an engine summarising vendor marketing is not an independent test. Use it as a reading of how the category is currently described, not as a verdict.
One more thing worth knowing about that run: across all eight questions, Profound and Peec AI were each named twice, in the same two questions — this one, and “alternatives to Profound”. Bungad was named in none of the eight.
Choose Profound when
- You need many markets and languages at once. Breadth is what the enterprise price buys, and it is the thing cheaper trackers genuinely do not match.
- Several brands or product lines need consolidating. Per-domain pricing elsewhere erases the saving fast.
- Procurement requires an established vendor. Security review, DPA, references, a contract. A real constraint, not one to route around.
- A team's job is to act on the analytics. Depth only pays for itself if someone is in there.
Choose Peec AI when
- One brand, one or two markets. You would be paying enterprise prices for coverage you will not use.
- You want to start this week. Self-serve means no procurement cycle.
- You are an agency reporting to clients. Prompt-level detail and competitor comparison is what a client report needs.
- Someone in-house will do the fixing. This is the condition under which any tracker is worth its price.
Choose neither when
Both are dashboards. Neither writes your pages, fixes your structured data or pursues mentions on the sources the engines cite. If the honest answer to “who will act on this?” is “nobody, we keep saying we will”, then a cheaper dashboard is not a cheaper solution — it is a smaller subscription to the same non-result.
That is the case a managed subscription answers, ours or an agency’s. Ours is $99–$799 a month and is described, with its limits, on AEO tools compared. The limit that matters most here: Perplexity is the only engine we hold an API key for. ChatGPT and Claude adapters are built and awaiting keys, Gemini is not built, and Google AI Overviews and Copilot have no API and are reviewed by hand for Scale clients. Both products on this page cover more engines automatically than we do. If engine breadth is your requirement, buy one of them.
Six questions to ask on either demo
- Which engines do you query through an API, and which are checked by hand or scraped?
- How many tracked questions, brands and markets does this price cover — and what happens when I exceed them?
- How is a failed engine call recorded? If a timeout counts as “not mentioned”, the trend measures your uptime, not my visibility.
- Can I fix the prompt list, and is it printed in every report?
- Can I export my full question history and results if I leave?
- Show me one real report, not a sample deck.
Question three is the one almost nobody asks, and the one that quietly ruins a trend line. Our own rule — failures recorded separately, never counted as an absence, and a run with any failure marked incomplete so it cannot become a baseline — is written out on how we measure. Ask both vendors what theirs is.
Common questions
What is the difference between Profound and Peec AI?
They sit on opposite ends of one axis. Profound is an enterprise platform: broad coverage across AI surfaces, regions and languages, deep analytics, priced by contract and bought through procurement. Peec AI is a self-serve tracker: prompt-level visibility, share of voice, sentiment and cited sources, reportedly from around $95 a month, bought with a card. Neither does the content and technical work for you.
Is Peec AI a good alternative to Profound?
For a single brand in one or two markets with someone in-house who will act on the data, yes, and at a fraction of the cost. It stops being a good alternative when you need many markets and languages at once, several brands consolidated in one place, or the procurement, security review and contract structure an enterprise purchase requires.
Which does Perplexity recommend, Profound or Peec AI?
When we asked Perplexity for the best AEO tools for tracking visibility in ChatGPT and Perplexity on 19 September 2026, it listed Peec AI first and Profound third, describing Profound as a strong choice for large-scale monitoring across many AI surfaces, regions and languages but generally more enterprise-oriented and expensive. That is one dated answer from one engine, not a verdict, and it is the kind of thing that changes month to month.
Has Bungad used Profound or Peec AI?
No. We track both as competitors in our own tool and we read what the engines say about them, but we have not run either product. Everything specific on this page is either what the companies publish about themselves or what an engine reported on a stated date, and it is labelled as such. Treat it as a guide to the decision and the questions to ask, not as a hands-on review.
